To Whom It May Concern: March, 2008
I was at a gathering of local women one evening, and happened upon this strong, silver-haired dynamo named Feeny. I felt like I might have met her before, but either way, I felt sure that I wanted to know her. She had a warm, welcoming energy that has proven true as I’ve gotten to know her over the years since.
I studied Spanish with Feeny and came to admire her dynamic view of life, and most especially the local Mexican people and culture. My Spanish studies were very productive and fun, and through that experience, I got to spend even more time with her, and share her abundant joy.
So it was easy for me to decide to ask her to housesit for me when I needed someone to stay and protect my home over a 3-month stretch one winter/spring. I knew she had tons of experience and was always in demand. I hoped she would be available and interested in my space. I love my house, and only wanted someone else in it who would love it too. Such was the case with Feeny.
During the 3 months I was gone, she nurtured each plant, and added a few more. She stayed on top of my worker so he wouldn’t slack off while “the boss” was away. She was diligent about staying in touch with phone calls and regular emails. She took great care of my house and endeared herself to my neighbors, who all enjoyed her presence here. I returned to a sparkling clean, smiling house, and a warm and loving welcome home bash that she orchestrated in honor of my birthday. So gracious!
She’s a great catch, if you can get her. She’ll bring a lot of positive energy and general comfort and joy to your home while you’re away.

To anyone considering Feeny Llpscomb as a housesitter:
Feeny has housesat for me twice, in July and in October of 2006. I have a cat I love very much who's used to a lot of interactive play and doesn't take to just anyone. In the past, I've always felt a little uncomfortable leaving Shakti when we travel.
I decided to interview housesitters and to find a good one. I also decided to pay the person $100 a week. I felt was worth it for my peace of mind.
Feeny came highly recommended and Shakti liked her right away. After our interview, I felt secure leaving our two apartments and the gardens and grounds, which also needed care, in her hands. Feeny emailed me several times just to let me know how things were at home, and I loved hearing how Shakti was doing.
I had the most relaxed time away I've ever had. She left the house immaculate with flowers and a note waiting for me when I returned. The gardens had obviously been well cared for too. I felt as if a dear longtime friend had been staying at my house.
I checked to make sure she was free to housesit again before confirming our travel plans for our next trip in October. Our second experience was consistent with the first one, and I felt the $$ was very well spent. I hope she'll be free whenever we go away again, though I know she plans to return to Mexico this winter.
It's easy to understand why Feeny is in demand as a caretaker of animals, plants and homes she's had lots of experience and is excellent at the job. I highly recommend her and have become convinced that you get what you pay for. In fact, Feeny has actually become like a family member since our two experiences with her.
Housesitting is a very personal thing.
If you need more information, please feel free to email me at the address above.
Sincerely,

To Fellow Travelers:
This was our experience having Feeny Lipscomb housesit in the summer of 2004:
Our family lives in Todos Santos, BCS, MX, during the winter months and returns to California each summer. Feeny cared for our house, two automobiles and two young German shepherds, Maggie and Lupe, during the month of June, 2004.
Just before we left, Maggie was hit very hard by an ATV on the beach. She was hurt but able to walk, and we hoped she would improve over time. We left her in Feeny's hands. In fact, in the weeks following the accident her injury worsened, making her unable first to jump up into our truck and finally to get up from a sitting position and walk without the greatest difficulty and pain. Feeny kept us abreast of her condition via email.
When her month was up, Feeny left the house in excellent shape for the incoming renters, who were supposed to care for the dogs as well. Though no longer responsible for the dogs, she went over there daily to check on Maggie, who continued to be only semi-mobile and in pain. Feeny took her to the vet in La Paz for X-rays, got her painkillers and anti-inflammatories and administered them to her regularly. She even took her to another doctor for a second opinion.
We gave her the use of our cars (She has insurance on her driver's license for any car she drives.) so she could continue to care for both dogs and take them to the beach, as our renters ended up spending more time than expected traveling and leaving the dogs enclosed in their pen.
She basically continued to care for both dogs for three months. Maggie showed improvement but was nowhere close to how she'd been before she was hit. Through her bilingual networking, Feeny found an old Mexican healer known for performing miracles on horses with bodywork and took Maggie to him.
He clearly saw/felt the knots that had been crippling her since the accident and worked on her for hours. Several weeks later, she was jumping up into the truck and running on the beach. Feeny paid for this treatment. Maggie continues to be fine to this day.
When we were coming back to Todos Santos in the fall, Feeny tracked down our gardener who hadn't been coming and got him there and supervised his work so that the yard would be clean and weeded before we got back. She did not have to do that, and we greatly appreciated her taking that initiative.
I believe the details of our experience speak volumes about the kind of personand housesitterFeeny is. I've never seen anyone better than she is with animals, and she takes excellent care of plants and property as well.
Let me know if I can answer any questions for you. If you want to talk to me on the telephone, email me and I'll send you my cell #.
Sincerely,
Charmaine Bostwick

To whom it may concern,
Feeny Lipscomb was my housesitter in Taos from 1995 to 2003, when I sold the house. I came into Taos only rarely during these years, as my job as a costume designer keeps me on the road constantly. Feeny was completely responsible for the house, the grounds, many huge plants and two feisty Jack Russell terriers, whom she loved and
helped to train.
It's rare to find an individual with Feeny's level of integrity. Coming home to Taos was always a joy: the house was immaculate, the dogs happy and groomed, and the plants monstrously healthy. There were flowers and warm touches everywhere which showed her love and care.
Because she's a highly competant person who's owned her own businesses, Feeny can also get things done, in several languages. She can easily manage a home improvement or landscaping project. She also has a natural flair for decorating.
Through her media contacts, she managed to get my home written up in a national magazine with three pages of photos. This all took place in my absence, and I was thrilled.
When I had to sell the house, Feeny worked with local realtors whom she knew to show the place many times over a period of several months. Both my realtor and I were away for this process, and we both were deeply grateful to Feeny for her active role in helping to close the sale.
If she is available to housesit for you, you will be fortunate indeed to have her. It's a wonderful feeling to know that your home is being well cared for by someone you can trust.
I would be happy to answer in person or by email any further questions you may have about Feeny, her character, and her abilities.
Sincerely,
Michael Dennison
